Make the most of your intern! This short course is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) considering to host a foreign intern.

The round of EU funding starting in 2013 is allocating more efforts to encouraging university students to do a foreign internship. This short course prepares SME employers for some of the issues which may arise during an internship.


Course description:

Hosting an international trainee is an opportunity for the tutor/entrepreneur to gain experience in human resource management . In other words, besides teaching , the tutor/entrepreneur can also learn or improve soft skills, by learning to coach and motivate, learning to delegate tasks and giving constructive feedback, improving communication and mediation skills and approaching intercultural issues.

A good way of properly taking advantage of this opportunity is to test and self-evaluate your own human resources management capabilities.

The course comprises three units which includes the following tasks:

Task 1: Your ideas on motivation on employees/interns
Task 2: Exercise on organizationand communication
Task 3: Turn your intern into an ambassador of your organisation
