We provide norwegian course at pre-intermediate level A2 part 1. The A2 part 1 and part 2 norwegian courses are for those who want to strengthen and develop the basic knowledge they already have in norwegian - equivalent to norwegian course A1.

About the course:
There will be more speaking practice as well as an increase in vocabulary and understanding Norwegian grammar. The teaching is communicative, and you are encouraged to use the language actively in practical situations from everyday life. There will be many opportunities to practice and use the language. We recommend that you have Norwegian skills at the A1 level before starting A2 part 1. Pre-intermediate level A2 is taught in two parts. Each part consists of 48 teaching hours.

Content:
In these courses, you will build on the knowledge you acquired in the A1 norwegian course. You will learn how to participate in simple, everyday conversations when the conversation partner speaks slowly and clearly.

The course content includes:
• Practicing pronunciation
• Numbers and prices
• Quantity and time expressions
• Developing question techniques
• Asking for and giving information
• Explanations
• Expressing an opinion in a more nuanced way

After the course, you will be able to:
• Speak and write simply about personal relationships and general topics
• Tell about events in the past and the future
• Describe yourself and your surroundings, your education and your work
• Express wishes and feelings
• Conduct a simple conversation about family, housing and personal finances
• Talk briefly about health and illness, make an appointment with a doctor
• Read simple texts and personal letters
• Write simply about personal experiences and everyday events
• Use basic grammatical structures in the situations listed above

Folkeuniversitetet:
At Folkeuniversitetet, we use task-based learning as our pedagogical approach for language teaching. This means that we place great emphasis on communication, interaction and practical language use. The lessons aim to improve the four main skills of language learning: listening, reading, speaking and writing. This is achieved through pair/group work, presentations and role-playing. The activities reflect common situations and contexts when using the target language in everyday life.

Course material:
We use the textbook and workbook "På vei" (2018) by Elisabeth Ellingsen and Kirsti Mac Donald. Course material is not included in the course price.***** For all A2 courses starting in January 2026 and later, we will use the new edition of the textbook and workbook “På vei” (2025).*****

Examination:
Our courses follow the curriculum in Norwegian for adult immigrants in accordance with the Integration Act. The educational organization Folkeuniversitetet is an approved provider of Norwegian language and social studies courses, pursuant to regulations from HK-dir and the Directorate of Integration and Diversity (IMDi) and offers language training in accordance with the Council of Europe’s language proficiency scale - the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

After completing the course, you can request a course certificate confirming your attendance in your user account. There is no exam at the end of the course. While our courses do not prepare participants for a specific exam, they align with the levels of Norskprøven which is an accredited Norwegian exam.
