In this Lino Printing course you will learn the basic principles of lino printing, this is a relief method of printing. You will be introduced to different materials and tools that can be used in relief printing.
We will look at the process of applying ink, talk about different inks, and papers. Then we will print, we will use traditional hand-burnishing techniques and we also have the use of a press. After our initial experimentation with single coloured print, we will also discuss the process of creating a Reduction Print, jigsaw or a multi-layered print, these are methods of printing with several colours. You will leave the course with the knowledge of how to continue lino printing at home, and a handful of colourful prints.
