We offer online workshop about Docker and Kubernetes. Containers such as Docker and container orchestration such as Kubernetes are hot topics right now, if you’re working on microservice architectures it very likely you’ll be looking at these technologies as they are a natural fit for microservices.

Content:
Containers are also a great way of dealing with legacy applications and allowing you to use modern deployment techniques for these older applications. This 2 day workshop will guide you through from beginning with creating containers all the way to running your containers in a Kubernetes cluster in the cloud using a combination of presentations and hands-on exercises.

We’ll cover the basics before moving onto more advanced topics, with a combination of slides and hands on exercises the attendees will learn the fundamentals of containers and by the end of the workshop will have an excellent understanding of containers & Kubernetes, how to create containers and run them on Kubernetes.

This workshop is suitable for attendees who are absolute beginners to containers all the way to those who have had some exposure to containers / docker and have heard of Kubernetes but not really worked with it extensively.

Speaker: Shahid Iqbal, Independent consultant, Microsoft MVP

Shahid is the Principal Platform Architect at Auror in Auckland, New Zealand. He is a hands on cloud architect implementing modern platforms predominantly in Azure focusing on PaaS and Cloud Native approaches to solving modern business and software problems. With an extensive background in software development he brings DevOps principals and approaches to helping teams to deploy and run their software in the most efficient and scalable ways the modern cloud platforms offer.

Shahid is also a frequent speaker at both international conferences and local meetups, runs workshops on Cloud Native technologies, and is a co-organizer of the Auckland Azure Meetup.

This workshop will use .NET Core, Windows and Azure AKS as the cloud managed Kubernetes service. The primary focus of this workshop are the fundamentals which are applicable across all languages and cloud providers, we will endeavour to support attendees using other languages, cloud providers wherever possible but cannot provide any guarantees.
