We provide course about GWO Basic safety training (BST) - sea survival (blended with adaptive e-learning + practical). The aim of GWO sea survival training is to teach delegates to support and care for themselves and others working in the industry by possessing sea survival knowledge and skills.

Content:
• Demonstrate knowledge of dangers and symptoms related to hypothermia and drowning
• Demonstrate understanding of the advantages and limitations of the different LSA, PPE and PFPE commonly used offshore in the wind energy industry and are able to don and use them accordingly.
• Demonstrate safe transfer from vessel to dock, vessel to foundation and vessel to vessel
• Demonstrate knowledge of the emergency and safety procedures on installations, vessels and WTG
• Demonstrate knowledge of SAR and GMDSS
• Demonstrate recovery and first aid treatment of a “man over board”
• Demonstrate evacuation from “WTG” to water by means of “Constant Rate Descender”
• Demonstrate individual and collective survival techniques at sea

Target group:
Personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields, and will carry out their duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or offshore wind structure. Personnel that perform job functions that have been risk assessed by their employer or workplace, where training according to one or more modules of the BST standard may mitigate the identified risks.

Prerequisites:
• The online component of the course will provide you with the prerequisite knowledge and awareness required ahead of participation in the onsite practical sessions.

The e-learning can be started up to 4 weeks (maximum) prior and must be completed no later than 48 hours prior to initial classroom attendance date. The latest you can sign up for the blended course is 4 days prior to the classroom start date.

Examination:
Certification is valid for 2 years. Prior to expiry delegates must retake GWO sea survival training to remain certified.
