(ECR-2307) The Sun Java System Web Server 6.1: Administration and Maintenance course provides students with the skills necessary to administer and maintain the Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 (formerly Sun Open Net Environment [Sun ONE] Web Server 6.1.

Please Note: Sun has recently rebranded Sun ONE Web Server 6.1 to be Sun Java System Web Server 6.1. You might see reference to either name within the course description and course materials.
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
• Install the Java System Web Server 6.1 Software (Web Server) and perform basic administration and configuration tasks
• Configure and deploy applications on the Web Server Software
• Administer advanced HTTP features on the Web Server
• Implement security for the Web Server
• Monitor and troubleshoot the Web Server
• Administer and use tools provided with the Web Server

Målgruppe for kurset
Students who can benefit from this course are web server administrators, Internet Service Provider (ISP) staff supporting virtual hosting, technical support engineers, and professional services consultants or developers who need to know more about the Sun Java System Web Server (Web Server) platform.
To succeed fully in this course, students should be able to:
• Use the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS) command-line utilities and text editors
• Use and configure settings for a web browser, and connect to hosts using Internet protocols, in particular Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), SSL, and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
• Edit files created with a markup language structure, such as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Extensible Markup Language (XML)
