The course units concentrate on developing the natural language and writing skills that we all, in one way or another, possess. We look at both theory and practice in relation to the ´melody´ of language, personal style and artistic means employed by authors and other artists.

The course units concentrate on developing the natural language and writing skills that we all, in one way or another, possess. We look at both theory and practice in relation to the ´melody´ of language, personal style and artistic means employed by authors and other artists.

Through course content, practical exercises and constructive criticism, we attempt to answer the Who, What and Where of the author. Along with this course you also have access to NooA´s Writers Lounge where you may share your work, comments and questions with peers in our other courses for authors.

This course has six units which consist of readings, tasks and shared reflections. In each unit, there is an assignment you must submit. Your teacher will give you feedback and good advice on your submissions.

The first unit is an introduction to the course. Your tasks are to write your personal presentation for the other students, indicate wich literary genre you prefer, and share some reflections about etymology. Your assignment is about swimming in ice cold water.

The second unit is about rules and expressions. You can share your reflections on personal expression with other students and write an assignment on imagination.

Unit three focuses on word-images and the assignment relates to a childhood memory.

The fourth unit is about clichés and images. You are invited to share some reflections on prepositions and continue a story written in a novelist style.

Unit five focuses on how we can use the language for descriptions and reflections.

The final unit is about form and content. You are asked to reflect on progress and process and write a final assignment related to sensuality.

You must like to write and be able to use word processor.

Eksamen / sertifisering

Your assignments and the course will be graded: Completed or More work required. When all required course work is completed, you will automatically receive an online course certificate.
