We provide course about IWCF Drilling Well Control L3&4 (BL) in norwegian. The IWCF Well Control Level 3/4 course is an advanced training program designed for drilling personnel and supervisors responsible for critical well control decisions during drilling and well intervention operations.
About the course:
This five-day course provides comprehensive training in well control principles, pressure control, kick detection, and shut-in procedures for both surface and subsea operations. Participants learn about advanced well control concepts, wellbore hydraulics, risk management, and well control equipment use.
Course content:
1) Advanced Well Control Theory:
• Understanding well control principles for both surface and subsea operations, including kick detection, shut-in procedures, and pressure management.
2) Kick Detection and Shut-In Procedures:
• Techniques for identifying kicks, implementing shut-in procedures, and managing well integrity
3) Wellbore Hydraulics and Fluid Dynamics:
• Advanced knowledge of wellbore pressures, hydrostatics, and fluid properties in various drilling and intervention scenarios
4) Emergency Response and Leadership:
• Developing skills for leading rig teams, coordinating emergency responses, and making critical decisions under pressure
5) Well Control Equipment and Techniques:
• Training on the use of blowout preventers (BOPs), choke manifolds, diverters, and other critical well control tools
6) Practical Simulation Exercises:
• Hands-on training using advanced simulators to practice well control scenarios and response strategies
Assessment:
Only one type of assessment is allowed for each candidate per session. To pass the assessment and get a certificate, candidates must achieve a minimum mark of 70% in each section of the assessment. Each candidate is required to complete two written test papers which include multiple choice questions and Kill Sheet calculations.
Target audience:
This course is ideal for:
• Drilling personnel, such as drillers, assistant drillers, and tool pushers (level 3)
• Supervisors, wellsite leaders, company men, and engineers responsible for overseeing well control operations (level 4).
Prerequisites:
Participants should have:
• A valid IWCF level 2 certification or equivalent for level 3, and level 3 certification or equivalent for level 4
• Relevant experience in drilling or well intervention operations
Language:
• The course is given in norwegian
Certification:
Upon successful completion, participants will receive the IWCF Level 3 or Level 4 Well Control certificate, valid for two years and recognized globally in the oil and gas industry.
