The Systems Management Using Sun Management Center 3.5 course is a follow-on release to the Sun Management Center 3.0 software, with several new features and enhancements.
|
This course describes the new Graphical User Interface (GUI) installation, deployment of Sun Management Center (Sun MC) software agents using JumpStart software, installing agents and patches on multiple machines, network and security improvements, and other features available within the base Sun Management Center software product.
This training is intended to provide support engineers, customers, and resellers with the information needed to provide support for the Sun Management Center 3.5 software. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
• Describe the features available in Sun(TM) Management Center (Sun MC) 3.5 software • Describe the Sun MC software architecture • Install and set up the Sun MC 3.5 software • Manage Administrative Domains • Monitor Sun MC software agent hosts • Discuss the Sun MC software modules • Describe security in Sun MC software • Graph data properties and create dataviews • Backup and restore the Sun MC software database • Utilize the Job Manager • Use the Sun MC software web console • Use the Sun MC software command line interface (CLI) • Import and export topology data • Use the Hardware Diagnostics Suite • Perform a non-interactive Sun MC software installation using the Sun JumpStart software • Create and apply an agent-update image • Describe interprocess communication in Sun MC 3.5 software • Describe the location and function of the configuration and log files used in Sun MC software • Troubleshoot Sun MC 3.5 software problems
