Sun StorEdge 3000 Series Installation, Configuration and Fault Analysis (NWS-3254)
|
The Sun StorEdge 3000 Series Installation, Configuration and Fault Analysis course explains how to successfully install, administer, and maintain the Sun StorEdge 3300 series and Sun StorEdge 3500 series storage arrays. Students receive classroom training and hands-on experience with these series. Topics include explanations of Network Equipment Building Systems (NEBS) concepts, as well as descriptions of the equipment features and architecture. The course includes instruction on cabling, configuring, and troubleshooting the arrays.
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
* Describe NEBS Concepts
* Identify Sun StorEdge 3300 series equipment and features
* Describe Sun StorEdge 3300 series architecture
* Describe how to install the Sun StorEdge 3300 series equipment
* Describe why and how to use the firmware application and the command-line interface
* Identify Sun StorEdge 3500 series equipment and features
* Describe Sun StorEdge 3500 series architecture
* Describe how to install the Sun StorEdge 3500 series equipment
* Describe how to install and configure Sun StorEdge Configuration Service
* Describe how to troubleshoot and perform advanced functions on the Sun StorEdge 3310, 3320 SCSI, 3510 FC and 3511 SATA Array

Målgruppe for kurset
Students who can benefit from this course are storage administrators responsible for effectively provisioning storage to meet business demands.
To succeed fully in this course, students should be able to:
* Describe and explain redundant array of independent disks (RAID) and RAID storage system concepts
* Manage storage using the Solaris Volume Manager software
* Complete basic networking tasks, such as ping, telnet, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) actions
* Perform system administration tasks with the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS)
* Describe and understand RAID configurations
