The Sun Blade 6000 Modular System Administration Workshop course provides the skills needed to configure the system, perform administrative duties through the system management network, and troubleshoot hardware failures.
|
This is part two of the training on this product. It is recommended that students complete WET-5582 Sun Blade 6000 Modular System Installation, Administration, and Troubleshooting web-based training prior to taking this lab workshop.
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
• Configure the Sun Blade 6000 Modular System
• Administer the Sun Blade 6000 Modular System
• Troubleshoot hardware failures within the Sun Blade 6000 Modular System
Content:
Configuration of the Sun Blade 6000 Modular System
• Configure the serial management network port for access
• Configure the network management port for access
• Navigate to the service processor (SP) ILOM from the CMM ILOM
• Configure system security on the CMM and SP ILOMs
Administration of the Sun Blade 6000 Modular System
• Gather the Sun Blade 6000 Modular System configuration information
• Gather the Sun Blade 6000 Modular System status information
• Perform Sun Blade 6000 Modular System ILOM basic administration
• Upgrade Sun Blade 6000 Modular System firmware and software
Troubleshooting of the Sun Blade 6000 Modular System
• Boot the server module OS and interpret its BIOS POST output
• Install and exercise SunVTS software

Målgruppe for kurset
Students who can benefit from this course are system maintainers, administrators, and operators.
To be successful in this course, students should have:
• Experience as a Solaris, Linux, or Windows administrator
• Experience with x64-based Sun server products
• Experience with the Sun Blade Server Platforms or equivalent experience
