The Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update Course (RHUP-305) course is designed for Linux system administrators with RHCE certification or equivalent skills and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 3 or version 4.


This course is designed to bring students up to date on the latest technologies now in the new Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 5. This course offers the same lecture, lab, and hands-on learning as RHUP304 without the RHCE exam on the fourth day.

Upon completion of this training, students should be able to:

• Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux, version 5
• Perform package management using yum
• Explore device management
• Manage file systems
• Administer new networking features in RHEL version 5
• Describe changes to SELinux
• Describe virtualization as it applies to Linux

Prerequisites
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux Update Course (RHUP-305) course requires an RHCE certification or equivalent experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Those with RHCT-level knowledge should benefit from this course, but some of the material in this course will assume knowledge that RHCT certificants may not have mastered. In addition, customers should have broad experience with Red Hat enterprise Linux version 3 and/or 4.
