Managing Storage Performance with Hitachi HiCommand Tuning Manager 5.x (HDS-459).

The Managing Storage Performance with Hitachi HiCommand Tuning Manager 5.x course is a three-day, instructor-led training that provides the knowledge for using Tuning Manager software at a basic level to monitor, analyze, diagnose, and forecast system performance.
It includes:
• Hands-on experience using reports and alerts to proactively manage storage systems
• Hands-on experience in problem reporting, resolution, avoidance, and storage management forecasting
• Focus on Tuning Manager as it relates to application performance
The course does not cover installation or configuration of Tuning Manager software
Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
• Describe how Tuning Manager enables optimization of storage performance
• Describe the architecture of Tuning Manager
• Access and use reference materials to identify key performance metrics and describe why they are important
• Log in and navigate the Tuning Manager GUI using the features of the Main Console and Performance Reporter
• Identify the causes of performance problems using a methodology for top-level diagnosis
• Use Tuning Manager Performance Reporter to modify and create useful performance reports
• Use Tuning Manager to create performance status reports
• Use Tuning Manager Main Console alerts to monitor important thresholds

Prerequisites:
Tuning Manager 5.0 or later software installed and configured in their environment. Minimal exposure to Tuning Manager software is a plus. Storage Foundations Certification Modular (THI0515), Storage Foundation Certification Enterprise (THI0517), or equivalent knowledge and experience with HDS storage fundamentals and storage systems is highly recommended.
