The In-System Replication Fundamentals course is intended to provide a review of in-system replication fundamentals and key tasks necessary to implement Hitachi ShadowImage and QuickShadow into today´s transport infrastructure.
|
The course is recommended as a resource tool for those responsible for providing nondisruptive, high-speed data replication within any Hitachi storage system. You will learn the features and benefits of ShadowImage and QuickShadow, their commands, and performance and configuration parameters. In addition, you will examine how Hitachi ShadowImage and QuickShadow in-system replication software enables immediate use of data in decision support, software testing and development, or backup operations. The course includes a major case study that presents both the challenges of data replication and best practices to:
* Ensure Business Continuity
* Improve Productivity and Processes
* Reduce Operational and Capital Costs
LAB INFORMATION: The hands-on labs offered in this course may involve accessing equipment that resides at a location other than where the training is delivered.
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
* Describe the key features and operations of ShadowImage and QuickShadow
* Identify ShadowImage and QuickShadow commands and the operations of each
* Describe key ShadowImage and QuickShadow specifications and performance factors
* Describe the steps to configure ShadowImage RAID Manager
* Describe key ShadowImage and QuickShadow troubleshooting scenarios and corrective actions
* Describe RAID Manager Command Control Interface operations and commands

Målgruppe for kurset
To succeed fully in this course, students should have:
* A background in data processing and understand direct-access storage device (DASD) subsystems and their basic functions
* A basic understanding of storage technologies
* Previously attended, IESHDS-408: Sun StorEdge 9990 V Software Solutions
