This course is designed for users who operate or administer the Automated Cartridge System Library Software(ACSLS).
|
Identify major hardware/software components including the SL8500 and SL500, describe the ACSLS Server processes. Understand tape pool configuration,perform tape pool maintenance, describe the Access Control process, Identify the ACSLS logs and their specific purposes and identify and perform the ACSLS Install and Configuration.Explain the troubleshooting and diagnostic programs. Describe the ACSLS/High Availability(HA) components and components and functions.
Upon successful completion of this training the student will be able to:
* Identify the major hardware and software components
* Describe SL8500 support by ACSLS
* Describe SL500 support by ACSLS
* Describe the ACSLS Server processes
* State and perform the ACSLS commands
* State and perform the ACSLS utilities
* Describe and perform the backup and restore processes
* Explain the tape pool configuration
* Perform tape pool maintenance
* Describe the Access Control process
* Identify the ACSLS logs and their specific purposes
* Identify and perform the ACSLS Install and Configuration
* Explain the troubleshooting and diagnostic programs

This course is for Systems Administrators, Operators, and Data Center Managers.
Prerequisites:
Working knowledge of UNIX, working knowledge of the VERITAS Cluster Server and Volume Manager. UNIX Skills for ACSLS (STK-100456C) is optional.
